Work began on collecting for the Mallaig Heritage Centre in 1985 and since then an impressive collection of photographs, postcards and other images illustrating the region's past and present has been assembled. Only a small percentage of these can be displayed in the Centre at one time, but further examples can be seen on this page and on Gallery Page 2.

Kinagarry, Morar
The Morar River at Kinagarry
This image, probably from the 1920s, has changed little today, although the road is a little wider. Behind the photographer, however, the landscape is changing dramatically as work takes place on a new section of main road from Morar to Arisaig.
